The MIC - International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza , in correspondence with two of the most important fairs dedicated to ceramics in Italy (Cersaie in Bologna and Tecnargilla in Rimini) will show the works of four important ceramic companies from 16 September to 2 October 2022 feature surfaces designed by international designers.
These are CEDIT - Ceramiche d'Italia (Florim brand) with the project signed by Elena Salmistraro, Iris Ceramica Group with surfaces designed by Guillermo Mariotto and told through a visual art exhibition, Lea Ceramiche with Ferruccio Laviani and Mutina with Konstantin Grcic and Nathalie Du Pasquier.
CEDIT presents "Chimera" designed by the designer and artist Elena Salmistraro. Large slabs with an intense symbolic charge, declined in four graphic themes, give rise to a fantastic universe inspired by nature and the chimera of the "grotesque" tradition. The surfaces recall suggestive figures decorated in groove or in relief with a strong tactility, made possible thanks to an innovative technique developed by Florim.
LEA Ceramiche proposes the refined work of Ferruccio Laviani "Color and matter are the basis of my work and in Masterpiece there is a perfect balance between two elements: concrete and seeded become architectural surfaces that give a unique and personal identity to every single project."
MUTINA presents two projects, the first " Mattonelle Margherita " by the artist Nathalie Du Pasquier, a work in constant evolution marked by color and lightness. It is characterized by a dual soul: on the one hand simple and minimalist, on the other creative and courageous. The second project is by designer Konstantin Grcic, who with DIN expresses a work that demonstrates an analytical and rational approach, marked by simplicity because as he maintains "simplicity is a way to get to the depth of something, to its roots".
IRIS CERAMICA GROUP presents " Bodies of Light ", an original concept that interprets through photography and cinematographic art the dualism between statuary material and lightness that characterizes the Luce Collection designed by the stylist and designer Guillermo Mariotto: a project that brings the narration of ceramics beyond the boundaries of architecture, intertwining it with the languages of art.
