From 1 June to 6 October the International Museum of Ceramics in Faenza is dedicating a large solo exhibition to the Spanish artist Miquel Barceló , one of the greatest protagonists of the international contemporary scene.
The Faenza exhibition, curated by Irene Biolchini and Cécile Pocheau Lesteven, is the first true anthology in Italy dedicated to his ceramic production, from the beginning to the present day, and sees the birth of a special project created by the artist specifically for the MIC of Faenza in dialogue with the works of the history of ceramics exhibited in the largest museum in the world dedicated to this language.
For the MIC of Faenza the artist will create an installation in dialogue with the section dedicated to Faenza ceramics. Inside the room the artist will place his ceramics, from the first clay works of the late nineties to the present day. Furthermore, as a tribute to the history of the MIC, he will select some key pieces of the collection by affinity and will intervene inside the windows in a mimetic way, in an autobiographical story in which the private element is mixed with history.
