Accepted the Artsupp Card
It opens on 14 June, at 6 pm, with the presentation of the volume “Antonio Violetta. Emotional sculpture” (texts by Bruno Corà and Irene Biolchini, Gli Ori, 2023) the solo exhibition dedicated to Antonio Violetta set up in the Project Room of the MIC Faenza.
The book will be presented by Claudio Spadoni together with the curator Bruno Corà.
The one-man show dedicated to the Crotone artist exhibits some of his latest works, including the work “Pagina”, 1984, terracotta and graphite, which the artist kindly donated to the MIC.
The artist, active since 1975, divides his career into two cycles of ceramic plastic production "Pagine" (1984-1989) and subsequently "Torsi" (2008-2019). A path that led him from figuration to abstraction and then to unite the two poetics under the analysis of the meaning of the gesture. Violetta stood out in the contemporary panorama of European art, becoming one of the most significant sculptors of the late twentieth century, thanks also to her presence at Documenta Kassel at the invitation of Germano Celant in 1982 and her participation in the Venice Biennale in 1986.
