The Escolar de Pusol Museum was founded in 1969 in conjunction with the Pedagogical Project "The School and its Environment". It is based in what were formerly the homes of the school teachers. The idea was born from the desire to protect the trades, traditions and natural environment of Campo de Elche. Visitors to the museum can therefore investigate the rich heritage of Elche in direct contact with the keepers of traditions. The whole community is invited to participate in the museum's activities.

The project carried out by the museum was immediately successful and donations increased considerably.

In 1998, thanks to the acquisition of 8,000 square meters of land, the museum was enlarged and was then inaugurated in 2001: here there are exhibition rooms, deposits, conservation and restoration laboratories, multipurpose room, library, archive, management, computer area , service area, orchard for environmental studies and public parking. In 2009, UNESCO officially included the Pusol School Museum Traditional Culture Center in the Register of Good Practices for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage, becoming the Third World Heritage Site of Elche ever since. Today the collection of the Escolar de Pusol Museum includes several sections divided by themes: agriculture, childhood, vestiarip, society, crafts and domestic life.
