The LAAC - Lieu d'Art et Action Contemporaine is a museum in Dunkirk dedicated to contemporary art. It is housed in a modern style building clad in white ceramic, which creates a strong contrast with the surrounding park. In the Park (Jardin de sculptures) there are 15 contemporary sculptures by famous artists, including Arman, César or Niki de Saint Phalle. Inside the rich collection of the museum there are artistic works from the period after the Second World War up to the present day. Numerous works by artists of the "CoBra" movement are preserved, as well as works of lyric and informal abstraction. The LAAc has become an important reference point for contemporary art in the region, also thanks to the organization of numerous temporary exhibitions of international level.
