MAKK - Museum für Angewandte Kunst is a museum of applied art in Cologne. Founded in 1888, the museum holds a prestigious collection of art objects, including goldsmiths, porcelain, furniture, tapestries, small sculptures, luxury items and weapons, spanning a period of time from the Middle Ages to the present day. Particularly famous internationally is the museum's modern design collection, which preserves numerous 20th century design objects, such as furniture, lamps, telephones, televisions, cameras, radios and appliances, crockery, cutlery, vases, many of them designed by designers such as Charles and Ray Eames, Dieter Rams, Frank Lloyd Wright, Philippe Starck, Ettore Sottsass, Stiletto or Joe Colombo. There is also a collection of graphics with about 100,000 objects, including posters, free and decorative graphics and chalcographies, bequests, books and ornamental engravings.
