The REME Museum is a small military museum in the town of Chippenham and houses just over 130,000 objects. The collections are a fascinating and eclectic mix that focuses on REME's history, but also tells a lot about the British Army in the 20th and 21st centuries. The collection housed here includes specialized salvage vehicles, medals awarded to REME soldiers, a large collection of weapons, uniforms, models, commercial evidence and radios. The REME Museum also has an extensive archive that includes letters, brochures, photographs, paintings, instruction manuals and vehicle specifications. The collection is curated by a team of professionals and volunteers who work to preserve such an interesting heritage for generations to come. On display are: Scammell Pioneer FV434, Sherman BARV; Challenger Armored Repair and Recovery Vehicle (CRARRV); Explorer of the Western Lands; FV106 Samson ARV; International Half Track; Morris Commercial; Churchill ARV Western Star tank ; Inside there is also a large collection of military documents.
