From 27 October to 30 January 2024, Villa Bernasconi hosts a highly selected exhibition of tuxedos and buttons, from 1900 to 1960, from the private collection of the historic Sartoria Orefice of Cernobbio. Edited by Aldo Premoli.
The process of rediscovering the value of buttons was born during Covid, when Sartoria Orefice committed to reopening all the boxes in the family archive, containing a large quantity of buttons dating from the end of the 19th century to the 1960s, passed down through five generations.
With a lot of patience they were dusted, numbered and cataloged and the curiosity to understand them, processing, materials, area and period of production grew. The help of Stefano Cannara, whose family founded the Cannare button factory, one of the most historic in Italy, was also very valuable.
Exhibition included in the museum entrance ticket. Visit the website HERE to purchase tickets.
