Stefano Bombardieri. Post station at Villa Bernasconi curated by Anna Lisa Ghirardi organized by the Municipality of Cernobbio in collaboration with the Galp Cernobbio gallery.
In the context of the widespread exhibition "The journey of the rhinoceros and the paradox of time," the Municipality of Cernobbio and Galp Gallery present "Stefano Bombardieri. Post station at Villa Bernasconi," a new exhibition project conceived for the Liberty spaces of Villa Bernasconi, as a "symbolic stop" in the narrative flow of the main exhibition.
"Post station at Villa Bernasconi" is not just an exhibition stop, but a true conceptual node – states the curator Anna Lisa Ghirardi – A place of boundary between movement and waiting, between what is still and what flows."
Villa Bernasconi – in front of which the monumental work Tribute to SITE is located – symbolically takes on the role of a "post station": a place of rest and communication exchange. The "post stations," already in Roman times, were located along the main roads and were used for changing horses, resting travelers, and were used as a place of exchange especially for mail and official messages, through couriers or relays.
