The show

From 1 December 2023 to 1 May 2024, for the first time Art and Science dialogue at Villa Bernasconi in a fusion of Painting and Artificial Intelligence, thanks to Debora Hirsh's great exhibition “Plantalia. Art, Nature and Artificial Intelligence, organized by the Municipality of Cernobbio in collaboration with the Ass. Mediterranean Sicily Europe and curated by Aldo Premoli.

PLANTALIA addresses issues related to plant species in danger of extinction due to the unbridled anthropization of the planet (monoculture, land grabbing, intensive farming) and the ongoing climate crisis. It is therefore a reflection on the ongoing climate crisis. Also but not only. Because starting from his painting developed on canvas, the artist communicates with Artificial Intelligence programs from which he obtains images and videos with which he then creates new animations. Finally, it guarantees images an eternal virtual existence by recording them in the blockchain. What elevates Hirsch's works to transcendental levels is precisely this: the further step into the realm of blockchain. Here the animations gain an eternal existence within the decentralized proprietary contract called Manifold.
