From 21 March to 1 May 2024 the Municipality of Cernobbio and Arte&Arte aps present the first Mini-exhibition in Villa Bernasconi of the historical archive of Miniartextil.

The exhibition presents 9 minitextiles by artists from all over the world, selected from the historical archive of the Arte&Arte Association, organizer of the historic Miniartextil exhibition since 1991, and two fiber art works by Mimmo Totaro . Also on display is "Silkworm" by French artist Zedukes , from the latest edition of Miniartextil “Denudare Feminas Vestis”, which was chosen as a purchase prize by the Municipality of Cernobbio and in which the silkworm butterfly on the facade of the villa rests on a book of precious fabrics almost recall the numerous stories that the museum tells.

Liberty woven ” aims to capture the beauty and sophistication of the Liberty style, known for its sinuous lines, floral motifs and enchanting atmosphere. The works will be in dialogue with the Villa itself through their association with its particular floral decoration. Thus a new story is born along the thread that connects these contemporary works with the Art Nouveau of one of the residences that best embody this architectural and artistic style in Europe. Metal threads, nets and fabrics woven by contemporary artists like the blacksmith's early twentieth century wrought iron ornamentalist Alessandro Mazzucotelli and glass worked with unconventional plastic processes to create a feast of lights and colors without time limits. Among the minitextiles on display there will be artists such as Kela Cremaschi and Marialuisa Barbera who also exhibits the work in the permanent collection of the Villa Bernasconi museum “Chair for illustrious guest”.

The exhibition will be enriched by collateral events, including guided tours and workshops. These activities will offer the public the opportunity to further immerse themselves in the fascinating world of textile art and Art Nouveau.
