MarteS - Museo d’Arte Sorlini

The MarteS hosts a collection of over 184 paintings, mostly representative works of Venetian and Venetian painting from the 14th to the 19th century, the result of the collecting passion of Luciano Sorlini (1925-2015), entrepreneur and lover of art in the broadest sense of the term. The Museum is located in Carzago di Calvagese della Riviera (BS); the building in which it is located is typical of Brescian architecture from the first half of the 17th century and was entirely restored in the 1990s by Luciano Sorlini.

Established in 2017 and inaugurated in 2018, MarteS has an exhibition area of one thousand square meters divided into 14 rooms, where the public can admire the entire collection, the result of more than fifty years of research. In the exhibition itinerary, alongside the well-known names of di Tiepolo, Ricci, Guardi, Canaletto, Rosalba Carriera, there are those of lesser-known but fundamental painters for the development of Venetian figurative arts: Pittoni, Diziani, Molinari, Bellucci, Fontebasso. This art gallery also includes works by Giovanni Bellini, Carpaccio, Bramantino, Savoldo, Padovanino, Celesti and Giuseppe Bernardino Bison. From 2022 the museum will offer the public temporary exhibitions created in collaboration with important cultural institutions, and plans numerous initiatives, such as meetings, workshops, events for children and families, concerts and parties.

MarteS is open to the public with a guided tour, lasting approximately 50 minutes. It is possible to book entry via the museum's website.
