The Grimaldi Castle Museum is a fortification of the city of Cagnes-Sur-Mer, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region. Classified as a historical monument in 1948, the museum now houses the ethnographic museum de l'Olivier, which preserves ethnographic objects related to the olive tree, an emblematic tree of the Mediterranean. Since 1946, the castle curator Denis-Jean Clergue (1906-1981) has set out to save the memory of an activity that was beginning to disappear. He then collected all the regional objects related to olive and oil production and documented the processing techniques through photographic campaigns and interviews with men and women from the olive world. To crown the visit, the castle offers a magnificent view of the medieval village, the Bay of Angels and the Mercantour Massif.
