Arnolfini is an arts center and international gallery in Bristol, England. The center is renowned for its program of contemporary art exhibitions as well as various performances by artists, music and dance events, poetry and book readings, lectures, lectures and cinema.
The gallery, originally located in Clifton, was founded in 1961 by Jeremy Rees. The gallery owes its name to the 15th century painting by Jan van Eyck entitled "The Arnolfini Portrait".
Among the artists exhibited, we find works by Bridget Riley, Rachel Whiteread, Richard Long and Jack Yeats. Notable exhibitions have included, in addition to the works of the aforementioned artists (Bridget Riley, Richard Long, Rachel Whiteread), also those of Paul McCartney, Angus Fairhurst and Louise Bourgeois.
