Preston Manor is an old listed building in Brighton, England. It is the former manor house of the village of Preston which is now part of the coastal city of Brighton. Preston Manor dates back to 1738. The house came into the possession of several owners, including the Stanfords, the richest family in Sussex.
Preston Manor has been a museum since 1932, when the Stanford family donated it to the Brighton Corporation. The museum is an exhibition venue that traces and represents how the life of the Edwardian upper middle class was. The house is also surrounded by a garden of historical interest with flint walls, a well in ruins and a cemetery for pets. Preston Manor is also famous throughout the country for being one of the most haunted buildings in the whole of the UK, so much so that it is a destination for ghost tours and related television programs.
