The Hove Museum is a Victorian mansion located in Brighton, England. Built in 1870 by local architect Thomas Lainson, the house belonged to John Oliver Vallance, a member of an important Hove family. He lived in the villa with his wife and children all his life. Upon the death of the couple, the building was also used to house German prisoners of war. In 1926 it was bought by the Hove Corporation and opened as a public museum in 1927. The Hove Museum was refurbished in 2003. To date it qualifies as one of the most family friendly and most accessible museums in the Southeast.
The Hove Museum frequently organizes exhibits and performances with local artists and community groups to create unique commissions for the museum.
