The Negri Foundation was born from the desire to promote the photographic heritage accumulated in more than 100 years of activity by Studio Negri. Thanks to the work of the photographers Giovanni Negri, Umberto Negri, Costantino Squassoni and Mauro Squassoni, the Negri Foundation was born in Brescia on 6 September 1993. The main objective of the Foundation is to promote, safeguard and catalog the photographic heritage made up of tens of thousands of images. An element of great innovation is the digital archive: an accessible online database where it is possible to consult and study the photographic materials made available by the Foundation. Of particular interest are the industrial and advertising photographs of the early twentieth century which make up a large part of the archive. Today the Foundation hosts temporary photographic exhibitions to foster the dialogue between present and past.
