From 14 February to 19 November 2023
Playing with a clear ambivalence of languages, the exhibition aims to structure an exhibition and itinerant architecture, in which the classical universe of Giacomo Ceruti meets the imagination of David LaChapelle , in a museum synergy between Fondazione Brescia Musei and the Getty Center which sees Ceruti's pauperistic works arrive in Los Angeles .
This engaging challenge, at the same time, brings the series Jesus is my homeboy ( 2003 ) to the Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, accompanied by the brand new work Gated Community by LaChapelle. Classical art and photography open up to dialogue, bringing into play their formal differences with the aim of shaking up a contemporaneity afflicted by relational aridity. Gated Community , taken in Los Angels in December 2022 , represents an ideological staging of the sacred and the profane, in which a very long tent city, a refuge for the homeless, crowds the sidewalks of the city, colored with Hollywood opulence.
