Opens to the public on Friday 29 May at 16.00 "P.O.V. Point of view “(new point of view) the new project conceived by the Butch-ennial Contemporary Art Group for the Museion Atelier House.
In line with the vocation of recent years, the Atelier House continues to host the youngest and liveliest realities linked to the territory. The Butchennial Contemporary Art Group, hosted by 2020, is an independent project, born from the passion of a group of South Tyrolean and cosmopolitan artists: Ruediger Witcher, Hannes Vonmetz Schiano, Marco Pietracupa and the architect Stefano Peluso.
How much can we trust what we see and perceive? How much deception is hiding around our gaze? Animated by the desire to produce in the public what the artists themselves call "genuine uncertainty about the truthfulness of what they are observing", the Butch-ennials "occupy" the Atelier House with a work that questions the idea of space, interior and outside, and therefore the places themselves of contemporary art and its public.
Those who cross the threshold of the Atelier House will not come across a "classic" exhibition with works of art, but will find themselves immersed in an alternative and alienating reality. The effect is similar to that of a 17th-century perspective box, or to the illusions created by trompe-l'oeil paintings.
