Museion presents "Oscillations", Marguerite Humeau 's first solo show in an Italian museum (1986, Cholet, France). In his works Humeau investigates our digital age by immersing himself in the great enigmas settled over the centuries, in the paradoxes and contradictions of the history of humanity and in its millennial attempts to establish a connection with the universe.

With an interdisciplinary and speculative approach, in his research the artist involves experts and experts from different disciplines - from paleontology to music, from zoology to linguistics, from engineering to biology. From his multifaceted work - composed mainly of drawings, sound installations and sculptures - open hypotheses emerge, which stimulate the imaginative capacity of the public.

"Oscillations" presents a group of sculptures in bronze, alabaster, marble and stone in a large immersive installation that is proposed as an imaginary space of transition and oscillation between the human world and that of spirits. The project starts from the fascination and mystery around the prehistoric statuettes of Venus, dating back to the Paleolithic age (about 35,000-11,000 years ago). In particular, the artist explores the relationships that psychoactive substances coming from animal brains could have on the sculptural forms of the prehistoric figures of the Venus themselves. The exhibition in Bolzano is the third and final stage of a broader research and collaboration project, which touched the New Museum in New York (Birth Canal, 2018) and then the Kunstverein in Hamburg (Ecstasies, 2019).
