From 25 January to 28 April 2019
Curated by Letizia Ragaglia
In collaboration with Center for Contemporary Art (CCA), Tel Aviv
In videos, films and installations Keren Cytter (Tel Aviv, * 1977, lives and works in New York) tells how the clichés of the media, especially social media, permeate our daily life. Through a cyclical and non-linear logic, his approach undermines linguistic conventions and traditional interpretative mechanisms. With an explicit reference to amateur videos, his montages of impressions, memories and fantasies give life to poetic and self-referential compositions, with a predilection for intense scenes and artificial nature. At Museion Keren Cytter presents a project about time and the different phases of life. Existing works will be exhibited alongside new works, such as several drawings - some on the glass surfaces of the museum's facades - and a new animated film that highlights her activity as a children's book author. First solo show in an Italian museum.
