On September 28, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., the exhibition "Emilio Prini – Typewriter Drawings. Bologna/München/Roma – 1970/1971" will open at the Antonio Dalle Nogare Foundation in Bolzano, dedicated to Emilio Prini (1942–2016), one of the most radical and enigmatic figures in the Italian and international art scene.

The exhibition, curated by Luca Lo Pinto and Andrea Viliani with Timotea Prini and organized in collaboration with the Emilio Prini Archive, presents a wide selection of works on paper, with a focus on those connected to the seminal exhibitions "Gennaio ’70 – comportamenti, progetti, mediazioni" (Museo Civico Archeologico, Bologna, January 31 – February 28, 1970), "Arte Povera – 13 Italian Artists" (Kunstverein München, May 26 – June 27, 1971), and "Merce Tipo Standard" (Galleria L’Attico, Rome, November 20, 1971).

The artist made his debut in 1967 by participating in the exhibition "Arte povera–Im Spazio" at Galleria La Bertesca in Genoa, marking the beginning of the research and the "movement" of Arte Povera. From the following year until the early seventies, he took part in some of the most significant international exhibitions of the time (including "Op Losse Schroeven, Live In Your Head: When Attitudes Become Form" and "Konzeption/Conception," 1969; "Information," 1970; "Contemporanea," 1973–74) before minimizing his exhibition activity. The initial core of his production is based on a limited number of ideas and works on which Prini continued to intervene until his passing, often reworking and modifying them with minimal but essential gestures. Most of the projects, although conceived in the early years of his career, were only exhibited later (partially disappeared), while others remained hypotheses on paper (totally disappeared).
