Museion presents BODY CHECK. Martin Kippenberger - Maria Lassnig. The two artists did not know each other personally and belonged to two different generations, yet both, at a time when abstraction prevailed in art, constantly and definitively placed the body at the center of their work. Their own body as an expression of a suffered experience of themselves and the world; the fragmented and deconstructed body, a metaphor for social and psychological conflicts; the theatrical and performative element, which leads to slipping into others' roles in a tragic and ironic way.
