From 30 March to 25 September 2023
This exhibition, which arises from the collaboration between Genus Bononiae and Il Vicolo, celebrates the Cesena-born sculptor and architect Ilario Fioravanti (Cesena 1922 – Savignano sul Rubicone 2022) , as part of a large project, 1922 ~ 2022 “Fioravanti 100!” , conceived and organized by Il Vicolo – Art Section of Cesena on the occasion of the centenary of the artist's birth.
Among the various works that Fioravanti has created over the years, on display will be his famous Lamentation, which finds its natural place in the exhibition spaces of Santa Maria della Vita, underlining the intense link between his art and the extraordinary composition of Niccolò Dell'Arca conserved in the Sanctuary.
The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalogue , published by Il Vicolo Editore (104 pages, Euro 30.00) which contains, in addition to all the works on display, also a rich repertoire of images dedicated to the Lamentation of Niccolò dell'Arca and texts critics dedicated to Fioravanti and his work. Andrea Samaritani's images restore the beauty and intensity of the works featured in the exhibition and that of the 15th-century Lamentation sculpture. By photographer Gian Paolo Senni are instead the images relating to the works placed in the exhibition venue.
