The Museum of the Jewelery Quarter is a museum in Birmingham, England. It is one of the museums managed by Birmingham Museums.
In 2008, the Jewelers' Quarter Museum was named the third best free tourist attraction in Europe, behind the Pantheon in Rome and the National Gallery in London.
The Museum was a gold jewelry factory owned by the Smith Pepper family, closed in 1981.
The peculiarity lies in the fact that the factory, from the moment of closure to 1992, the year the museum was opened, has remained exactly as it was, no object has ever moved like a bubble over time which therefore tells the 200-year history of Birmingham. The Museum of the Jewelery Quarter represents the center of the British jewelery industry and its traditional crafts.
In addition, the museum also contains two self-managed galleries: "Story of the Jewelery Quarter" which tells the history and development of the Jewelery Quarter and "Earth's Riches" where jewels made with natural materials from all over the world are exhibited.
