ongoing The 250 years of the Diocese of Biella

The show

The 250th anniversary of the Diocese of Biella : from 2 June to 18 September at the Museo del Territorio Biellese , an exhibition with free admission that embraces two centuries of religious and civil history and tells the dialogue between Church, clergy and community .

The exhibition itinerary winds from the ground floor rooms of the Cloister of San Sebastiano to the seventeenth century hall of the historical-artistic section.

The visitor will thus be able to learn about the roots of Biella Christianity and its most significant figures, through documents and bibliographic materials from the diocesan library and archive, and works of art from the Cathedral of Biella and the Sanctuary of Oropa.

On the occasion of the exhibition The 250 years of the Diocese of Biella, the external exhibition spaces of the historic Palazzone building were also inaugurated, in via Seminari at the corner of via Arnulfo, with the display of an unpublished canvas depicting the stoning of Santo Stefano, patron saint of Recently rediscovered and acquired by Banca Patrimoni Sella & C. the work of the workshop of Bernardino Lanino has been the subject of restoration, historical-critical studies and research for the occasion.

These initiatives will thus make it possible to enhance and relate public and private assets, with the common goal of sharing them with the territory.
