An incredible virtual journey through time to discover Van Gogh and Monet. See, feel, experience the places that inspired the two most beloved painting giants ever.
Thanks to VR technology, the visitor will be immersed at 360 degrees in the landscapes, colors and atmospheres of Arles and Giverny, as if he were living inside the painting. The exhibition, produced and distributed internationally by Next Exhibition srl, is organized in collaboration with the Department of Culture and with the patronage of the City of Biella.
The experience, for the first time in Piedmont, is all-encompassing: the visitor is taken by the hand and guided on a cultural path between real and virtual in search of new and delicate emotions, opening the mind to sensations never experienced before: colors, impressions , feelings.
The exhibition, housed on the first floor of the Territory Museum, is divided into four sections.
The journey begins with the meeting with the two artists in the VR area where, with the support of the Oculus Quest 2, the latest generation tool for the virtual world, the public will experience firsthand the story of the scenarios that inspired the art by Van Gogh and Monet.
The visitor experiences a typical Van Gogh, from dawn to dusk, in the French village of Arles. From waking up in the bedroom (Van Gogh's bedroom), walking up the stairs, discovering the house from the outside (The White House), advancing in the fields with the meeting of the peasant women (La Siesta) , the arrival in the Wheatfield with crows and then A Wheatfield with Cypresses where a speed effect indicates that the end of the day is coming and the transition to The Starry Night begins, before the day is finally over with painting night on the seafront (Starry Night over the Rhone) and the return to the bedroom (Van Gogh's bedroom).
With Monet we start from his studio, to see in sequence the scenarios and colors that excited him most: from the vibrant red of I papaveri to the yellow of I sheaves, from the snowy landscape of La Gazza to the flickering water of the Thames in Parliament, at sunset. The views of Bordighera and the light touch of Le Ninfee up to the station, a recurring theme in the artist's paintings.
