The Berwick Museum and Art Gallery is home to the Berwick Burrell Collection. The Burrell Collection itself was one of the most generous civic donations ever made in Europe and attracts a large audience with spectacular pieces on display throughout the summer. The Berwick Burrell collection consists of over 300 pieces including oil paintings, watercolors and drawings by masters including Degas, Boudin and Daubigny, as well as Northumberland talents such as Joseph Crawhall. Medieval, Neolithic and Bronze Age artifacts are also preserved in the museum, as well as samurai armor and swords, relics of oriental and Egyptian art. There is even a 90-million-year-old dinosaur on display.
