Schloss Köpenick is a palace located in Berlin, now used as a museum. It is a Baroque castle built in the 18th century in the heart of the center of Köpenick, an island in the River Dahme. The island can be reached via a bridge connected to the mainland (Lange Brücke, lit. Long Bridge), which connects the old part of Köpenick across the Dahme with the western and north-western districts and the center of Berlin. After a ten-year restoration, in 2004 the castle reopened to the public, becoming the second seat of the Kunstgewerbemuseum, the museum of applied arts in Berlin. In addition, the museum hosts the permanent exhibition entitled "Renaissance, Baroque and Rococo Art", with a cross section of decorative art from the 16th to the 18th century that occupies 21 rooms spread over three floors. The space is also used for the organization of temporary exhibitions.
