The Victoria Art Gallery is a public art museum located in Bath, Somerset province, England.
The building, designed by John McKean Brydon in 1897, was initially used as a public library, only to be transformed into a museum in 1990. The museum owes its sound name to Queen Victoria: it was inaugurated on the occasion of her sixty years on the throne.
Inside it divides into two main galleries: the Upper Gallery and the Lower Gallery.
The Victoria Art Gallery collection houses more than 1,500 pieces, including decorative arts, an exhibition of British oil paintings from the 17th century to the present, with works by Thomas Gainsborough, Thomas Jones Barker and Walter Sickert. Thanks to donations to the museum, it was able to enrich itself with works by Edward Burne-Jones, Henry la Thangue and Walter Langley.
The collection also includes sculptures, glass objects and decorative art objects.
