The painting has many features of the mature Titian. The rendering of the sky is interesting, where the chromatic drafting leaves room for the canvas left rough at times. It is also worth remembering a curiosity: the cute little dog at the foot of the hut was covered up, because it was considered scandalous and irreverent. On the occasion of the last restoration, the animal was recovered, helping to underline the naturalistic interest of the brilliant Venetian painter.
