The entire composition is built on a door, an opening that crosses the complex longitudinally and which symbolizes the passage from this life to the heavenly one. In height, the monument is divided into three levels: on the first from the bottom, two lions guard the passage and, near them, stand two allegorical figures, Religion on the left and Funeral Genius on the right; the intermediate space is occupied by the actual sepulcher of Clement XIII, decorated with two bas -reliefs of virtues (Charity and Hope) and above which the deceased kneels in prayer with the papal tiara placed at his feet.
