Architect, painter, engraver, draftsman, man of multifaceted interests and great friend of Luca Beltrami, Luigi Conconi creates prints characterized by the contamination between graphics and painting. Also in this case he enriches the etching with a monotype intervention, for which he spreads the ink on the plate, using his fingers, as revealed by visible traces of fingerprints. With this painting process, the artist blends black and white into shades of gray and creates a sensual composition. The scene appears, in the same way, in a watercolor by the artist from 1896, with slight modifications. Conconi signs by depicting the initial of his surname with a crescent moon, as seen at the bottom right.
