From 14 April it will be possible to admire for the first time two important paintings, which belong to the second half of the 18th century, generously donated by a private collector who has been following with interest the events held at Villa Monastero for some time, on some occasions lending paintings of the his collection at various exhibitions. Attributable to the Venetian area, they show notable common elements with the works created by the Belluno Diziani (Gaspare, 1689-1767, and his sons Giuseppe 1732-1803 and Antonio 1737-1797) who were active both in Venice and in the Veneto, to whom the two paintings seem to be juxtaposed. Gaspare worked with the great Venetian master Sebastiano Ricci, of whom he was a pupil, and worked with the scenographer Alessandro Mauro in Dresden for some theaters and later in Munich, then in Rome and then again in Venice, where he was one of the founders of the Academy of painting, sculpture and architecture. The works are exhibited in the Fermi Room, former church of the monastery of Santa Maria, a particularly suitable location in relation to the subjects dealt with: Jesus chases the merchants from the temple and the justice of King Solomon.
