On the ceiling there is a piece by Ben Jakober / Yannick Vu, titled Memnon, created in 2010, methacrylate, ø 200 x 1 cm, which was part of the Ho Veus Exhibition, in the cloister of the Basilica and Convent of Santo Domingo in Pollensa. “Seeing, looking at, appreciating art is a subjective act that has no criteria. There is an elusive element that requires training or experience. Color blindness is a defect of the photoreceptors responsible for determining the perceived color, called cones, which are located in the retina and determine the type of color blindness: monochromatic, dichromatic, abnormal trichromatic and achromatic. This work by Yannick and Ben Jakober, inspired by color blindness tests promulgated by Ishihara and others, aims to approximate the viewer's lack of 'sight' with an eye defect. These circular works are presented in the chapels of the Cloister of Santo Domingo in Pollensa as monstrances or monstrances (Es: monstrances), shapes used by Botticelli and Michelangelo in other sacred places."
