Cinerary urn, without lid, from the deposits of the Archaeological Superintendence. Below the frame, on the front, in bas-relief, a representation of Ulysses bewitched by the Song of the Sirens: on the right a ship with outstretched sails, to whose mast is tied a man dressed only in his cloak, Ulysses, and the sailors seated on the benches intent to row. On the left three seated female figures, dressed in tunic and cloak, intent on playing. The representation of the cycle of Ulysses is particularly widespread in the Volterra area in the Hellenistic period.
