The film director Juan Luis Buñuel, 1934–2017, son of Luis Buñuel, was an artist open to various fields:
photography, painting, sculpture. He directed fiction films, television series and also documentaries,
such as the short film Calanda, for which he won the San Gregorio Award at the Valladolid International Film Festival. Among his best films are The Expulsion of the Devil, 1973, The Woman in the Red Boots,
1974, and La rebellion de los colgados, 1986. As for his passion for sculpture, it arose from the
friendship with Alexander Calder, who helped the Buñuel family on their trip to exile in the United States. Here, in the Sokartes gallery, two of his works are exhibited: Sandy's Dog, 1986 (wire) -, a tribute to Calder and Cabeza de mujer, 1986, also made of wire.
