Washen Again, 2019, is a work by the artist Moffat Takadiwa, born in 1983 in
Karoi, Zimbabwe currently living and working in Harare; graduated with
an honors degree from Harare Polytechnic College, Zimbabwe in 2008. Takadiwa creates large-scale sculptural pieces from materials that are normally thrown away, including everything from computer waste, aerosol cans and spray bottles, to toothbrushes and tubes of paste of teeth. He weaves these small everyday objects into stunning organic forms evoking jewel inlays or ritualistic minimalism. The artist's choice of materials conveys his concern for issues related to consumerism, inequality, post-colonialism and the environment. This spectacular piece is made of
toothbrushes and detergent bottle caps, 260
x 240 x 25cm.
