Pilgrim cruet in purified ceramic with matrix decoration. On one face there is the representation of a person with a veiled head and a swaddled child riding a mule (flight into Egypt), on the other there is a blessing character on horseback (Christ's entry into Jerusalem). The specimen is part of a group of ampoules produced in the near-eastern area by the same workshop, kept in the museum of Antioch, which present various representations and are not related to a specific sanctuary. They probably constituted a generic reminder of pilgrimages, perhaps to Jerusalem.
