From 10 May to 18 August 2024
Concrete art is the term introduced in 1930 with the manifesto “L'Art Concret” by Theo van Doesburg, mainly to avoid confusion with the term 'abstract art'. In both paintings and sculptures, concrete art stands for art in which no reference to reality is visible. “Amersfoort Concrete” is the most extensive exhibition that Musiom has presented to date. In collaboration with artist and guest curator Roland de Jong Orlando, Musiom shows the work of 23 Dutch artists. The works shown have a great variety, but the similarity is that they are rooted in concrete art. The result is an exhibition with international allure.
