The show

Opened in summer 2020 as an evolution of Cascina Maria - the first artist residency experiment conceived in 2017 by Nicoletta Rusconi Art Projects - CASCINA IDEA announces the 2021 programming for the spaces of this rural complex immersed in the Piedmontese countryside and transformed into a place dedicated to art and artists, always under the banner of experimentation and dialogue between different disciplines.

With Dolls and Goddesses, personal exhibition by Vannessa Safavi (Lausanne, 1980) curated by Marco Tagliafierro which will take shape from the artist's residence inside the farmhouse between April and May 2021, from May 16 2021 the new exhibition activities will be inaugurated, which continue in September 2021 with the exhibition of Thomas De Falco (1982), artist in residence since June 2021. Dolls and Goddesses explores, with humor and a sense of provocation, the domestication of gender stereotypes, analyzing the sculptural possibilities of the representation of the body and questioning the relationship with illness, sexuality and identity.


On display a series of glazed ceramics representing women's breasts: works inspired by ex-votos, votive offerings which, in different cultures and religions, represent fragments of the body whose healing is sought. Alongside these, a series of new works created by combining details of hands - nails, fingers - in glazed ceramic and large silicone paintings.
