The MACA - Museum of Contemporary Art is located in the old city of Acre, in the province of Cosenza. The Museum was opened in 2006 and is developed in 30 exhibition halls. The collection consists of 237 works that were donated by the artist Silvio Vigliaturo the museum. The museum houses the collection of one of the most important artists of the glass-melting. The works were made by Vigliaturo during the course of his artistic activity. Sculptures, paintings and drawings make up the museum collection that trace the milestones of artistic research Silvio Vigliaturo. The heart of the exhibition is a large installation created by the artist called "Battle outside the walls." The museum is not just the container of the works of Silvio Vigliaturo, but it is a place of research and contemporary art. In recent years the collection has been enriched by a series of 66 graphic of great artists of the Italian Novecento. Among the most important artists include: De Chirico, Morlotti, Scanavino, medlar, Schifano, Luigi Le Voci, Cataldi Giovanni Francesco Guerrieri and Fritz Baungartner. The museum now houses temporary exhibitions, seminars, conferences, workshops and educational workshops. The goal is to create a meeting place especially for young people.
