The Villa Bassi Museum is located in the city of Abano Terme and is located inside the Villa Bassi. The complex of Villa Bassi Rathgeb (formerly Secco, Dondi dall'Orologio and Zasio) falls fully within the typology of the "Venetian villa", a place where agricultural activity is carried out linked, according to the classical ideal, to a healthy lifestyle , virtuous and full of entertainment for the owners. The Bassi Rathgeb collection was acquired by the Municipality of Abano Terme in two different moments. The first donation, which took place in 1972, includes about fifty paintings, drawings and engravings that are part of a chronological span that goes from the 15th to the 20th century, with the names of Renaissance masters of great importance, such as Giovanni Cariani, Moretto da Brescia and Palma il Giovane as well as seventeenth-century Venetian and Lombard painters. The second, which took place in 1980, has four hundred pieces including paintings, drawings, engravings, furnishings and furnishings from the Bergamo palace.
