The Glass Rooms

LE STANZE DEL VETRO is a cultural project and a permanent exhibition space, designed by Annabelle Selldorf Architects, located on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore in Venice, born in the summer of 2012 from the collaboration between Fondazione Giorgio Cini and Pentagram Stiftung and dedicated to the study and to the valorization of modern and contemporary glass art.

The project has the specific objective of bringing glass back to the center of debate and the international artistic scene, showing the countless potential of this material. The cultural initiatives of LE STANZE DEL VETRO are dedicated both to the promotion of contemporary artists who have used glass as an original expressive means and medium of their own poetics, and to the valorisation and study of the main producers and the most important glass collections present in the panorama world.

Two exhibitions are held every year: the first, in spring, dedicated to the use of glass in the fields of art and design of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries; the second, during the autumn, dedicated to the talents who designed and designed for the Venini glass factory in the twentieth century.
