The Bevilacqua La Masa Foundation is located in the historic center of Venice. The main venue for the Foundation's exhibitions is in Piazza San Marco, under the arcades of the Procuratie Nuove. The space is spread over two floors and lends itself to both historical and purely contemporary exhibitions. The Foundation also has some side windows facing Second Calle de l'Ascension, occasionally used for temporary exhibitions. The Foundation is home to residences for artists and is among the oldest in Europe. In fact, from 1898 the Duchess Felicita Bevilacqua La Masa set up her private residence as a place to promote the art of young artists in Venice. Bevilacqua La Masa has kept unchanged the original mission of promoting young artists through the activity of the Artist Studios, considered an element of extraordinary relevance.
