The show

Also this year we are happy to host in the suggestive setting of our Cetacean Gallery the exhibition with the winning photos of the International Underwater Photography Competition organized by Abissi Underwater Photo Venice and now in its thirteenth edition.

Despite the serious epidemic situation that prevented many photographers from diving during the year, the “City of Venice” competition saw the participation of over 50 underwater photos . The photos presented were almost 200 and come from the seas around the world as well as their authors from Italy, Austria, Germany, Greece, Belgium, United States, Hawaii, Australia, Taiwan, Malaysia and the Philippines. The 30 shots on display were selected by a jury of industry experts composed of Davide Lopreste, Fabio Iardino and Marcello di Francesco. To add value to this splendid photographic material, but also to promote love and respect for the sea and for the organisms that populate it, the authors - as happened in previous editions of the exhibition - have allowed the free use of the images to the Museum for scientific, educational and educational purposes.

The public will also be able to admire a glass work created for the occasion by the master glassmaker Stefano Dalla Valentina, sponsor and collaborator of 'Abissi' since the first edition, and the glass miniatures by the artist Mauro Vianello.
