The show

Castello Sforzesco , in the International Year of Glass promoted by the United Nations for 2022, is promoting a collective exhibition of twenty contemporary artists invited to create a glass work inspired by the world of opera. The exhibition therefore becomes a tribute to opera and unites two arts that have made Italy famous in the world, the art of glass and opera, united not only by the breath that generates them, but also by the ability to tell stories , characters, characters, and to excite by involving the viewer.


The exhibition, curated by Fiorella Mattio and Sandro Pezzoli, is set up in the Museum of Musical Instruments and, in addition to being an opportunity to explore different languages of contemporary art, it is also a journey into music, between famous arias and lesser known works great audience. Through the Museum of Musical Instruments and the Sala della Balla, the exhibition leads up to the Sala Castellana, where it is possible to visit the Bellini Pezzoli collection of contemporary glass recently donated to the Castle . Here the works of some of the artists present in the exhibition are permanently displayed, such as Joan Crous, Silvia Levenson, Aristide Najean, Laura Panno, Lucio Perna, Matteo Seguso, Marina and Susanna Sent, Lino Tagliapietra, Camillo Triulzi, Violetta Uboldi, and it is exhibited the work of Fulvio Bianconi (The Lovers, 1986) which inspired the setting up of the Glass and Opera exhibition at the Castello Sforzesco. The other artists on display: Montserrat Durán Muntadas, Gala Carlota Fernández Montero, Pasquale Gadaleta, Maria Christina Hamel, Silvia Listorti, Maria Grazia Rosin, Natalia Saurin, Giovanni Soccol, Yolanda Tabanera, Andrea Zepponi.
