Curated by: Mariano Boggia

The show

From Tuesday 2 November 2021 the exhibition Marisa and Mario Merz. The tip of the pencil can perform an overtaking of conscience, in progress at the Merz Foundation, is enriched and presents three new works by the artists Richard Long, Giulio Paolini and Remo Salvadori.

Marisa and Mario Merz is an unpublished exhibition project, curated by Mariano Boggia, which illustrates their work in the particular light of our time. For the first time in the spaces of the Foundation the works of Marisa and Mario Merz meet in a unitary path, to recreate the dialogic dimension, the intense and profound exchange on mutual practices that has never canceled individual points of view.

The title of the exhibition is an explicit quote from a sentence by Mario Merz that leads back to the common ground of artistic practice as a starting point for the prefiguration of unknown worlds.

The three works that have integrated the itinerary since 2 November give rise to triangulations of gazes and senses and discreetly fit into the dialogue present in the rooms of the exhibition, occupying spaces that had been left free in anticipation of this appointment.

In their long activity Marisa and Mario have met and intertwined relationships with other artists, with some it was a long-distance dialogue, resumed on the occasion of new joint exhibitions, with others after the first meeting a habit sometimes transformed into friendship developed. .
