closed GESTUS. The assembly of the actions

The show

The Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi explores a new area of activity that joins the cultural proposals dedicated to contemporary languages that make up the seasonal calendar, presenting its first site-specific exhibition project: Gestus, curated by Video Sound Art. A new format exhibition designed specifically for the Teatrino, the iconic auditorium designed by Tadao Ando, which offers itself as a space open to the most recent artistic experiments, with the aim of giving shape to original projects, never equal to themselves, undermining the traditional relationship between the exhibition device and the public.

Gestus is a collective exhibition conceived as a constantly evolving body animated by video works, installations, performances by the artists: Annamaria Ajmone, Ludovica Carbotta, Andrea Di Lorenzo, Caterina Gobbi, Luca Trevisani, Driant Zeneli and Enrique Ramirez, guest of the residence of artist of the Pinault Collection in Lens and protagonist of the exhibition opening in 2022 at Le Fresnoy National Contemporary Art organized in collaboration with the Pinault Collection.

"Gestus II act: The assembly of the actions" from 1 December to 15 January 2022, staged the works of Ludovica Carbotta and Driant Zeneli and the performances of Ludovica Carbotta with Benedetta Barzini (1 December), Annamaria Ajmone (4 December) and Driant Zeneli (January 15). Artists explore new possibilities of being in the world and observe, beyond appearances, the deep structures that govern human behavior. The second act of the exhibition reflects on utopia understood as a tool to "open" the body to new worlds and possible concepts.
