The show

On the 18th of May at the Cassero Medievale in Prato, “DIÀ-LOGOS through common words” opens, the double solo show by the artists Laura VdB Facchini (Prato, 1962) and Antonia Trevisan (Vicenza, 1948), curated by Erica Romano, which will be open until 2 July.

The exhibition project, shared and created with the support of the Municipality of Prato, was born from the story of a friendship, in which dialogue has become the fertile ground for a personal and common work together. In synergy with this theme, there are two special appointments designed for meeting and direct dialogue with the public: on Friday 9 June (at 5.30 pm) there will be a talk with readings dedicated to the works together with the artists and the curator, while on Thursday 29 June (at 18.00) the catalog of the exhibition, published by Gli Ori, will be presented, followed by a guided tour in dialogue.

“DIÀ-LOGOS through words in common” develops as a single body, in which two distinct and different voices alternate, with works that touch both significant periods of the individual productions of the two artists, and works created over the years that have seen the long gestation and preparation of the exhibition, as the result of mutual influence and mutual inspiration based on shared values and radical and profound existential experiences.

An exhibition that, as the title says, was born in the sign of dialogue: not only that between the artists, but also that of the visitors with the works of art and the environment that encloses them; in the belief that the transition from the individual to the dual can make it possible to open a dialogue even to a larger number of people, the role of the visitor-actor assumes a fundamental value, and only in the encounter with the other and with the other authentic self-expression finds space.

Therefore, rethinking the ways to "get close", the artists will invite the public to participate in guided tours and reading meetings, with the intention of triggering an exchange of glances that attract each other to welcome and explore each other. To validate this trait d'union, the itinerary concludes with a site-specific joint work, designed for the external garden adjacent to the walls of the Medieval Cassero, where it will live exposed to climate change and changes brought about by the wind, suggesting a concrete image of fertilizing contamination and resilient flexibility.

The exhibition is open to the public with free access, from Thursday to Sunday, from 16.00 to 20.00, and can be visited until 2 July.
